Still Fabulous is a joint venture of the BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital Auxiliaries!

Together the volunteers of the BC Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Auxiliary operate the Still Fabulous Thrift Shop which raises funds for patient support services, programs, and equipment.

The auxiliaries’ respective board of directors has ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of each organization on behalf of its membership and in the interests of each hospital. They serve as leadership bodies, formulating policy and plans. Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Raising funds that support programs and services of each hospital
  • Working with the Hospital Volunteer Service Dept as an advisory committee for volunteer initiatives and social enterprise ventures
  • Serving as a liaison between the respective hospitals and their communities.

Each auxiliary supports its hospital in the following ways:

  • Involvement in the provision of programs and services supporting patient and family comforts
  • Raising funds on behalf of the hospitals
  • Supporting the volunteer program by assisting as an advisory council in the recruitment and utilization of volunteers, as well as making suggestions regarding beneficial ways to utilize volunteers’ time and talents
  • Serving as a communications conduit between the hospitals and the community
  • Assisting the hospitals by serving as one source of input for support and promotional activity.
